BADU COURT – MEADOWBROOK
The design and construction of this custom built timber treatment plant with ancillary office attachment consisted of a 1,500m2 timber treatment and storage area, 200m2 2 storey office area, external heavy duty and light duty pavement areas and bio-retention basin. The construction methodology for this particular project highlighted Nairn Construction’s ability to design to strict Australian Standards, Environmental Protection Standards and Local Authority Regulations.
The treatment plant facility involved the construction of an in-ground pit housing 25,000L tank containing timber treatment chemicals, all which were controlled through a suspended control room. Concrete slab on ground construction with pre-cast panel wall to the western and southern walls only, leaving two sides of the warehouse completely open. Rainwater harvesting and re-use in the treatment process was also a key factor in the design of the building allowing for the sustainable treatment of timber and reducing the plants average water consumption.
